12s beat Salthill
Our
U12 panel kept up their very good form when defeating a strong Salthill-Knocknacarra
team at their home ground beside Pearse Stadium in Salthill last Saturday.
This end of season game for both teams was hotly contested right up
until the final whistle with the Garrycastle lads emerging victorious
in a 15 a side game by 3-13 to 3-06.
A
panel of 28 travelled on the day and after the game we were well looked
after by the Salthill Club with food and beverages for all.
As
a reward for the panel’s effort during the year they spent the
rest of the day in Galway enjoying many fun activities and arrived home
at 8pm tired but happy.

Park, Mullingar. As teams are a maximum of 11 a side we had two teams
in action on the night.
The Green
team captained by Shane Duffy were quick into their stride and with
excellent ball supplied into the forward line from midfielders Shane
Duffy and Eoin Mulvihill,Garrycastle scored some excellent goals and
points from Brian Ruane, Phillip Monaghan and Conor O Driscoll. Kinnegad
began to come more into the game with the help of a strong local following
but the Garrycastle defence stood firm with Dara Mulvihill, Brad Murphy,

his first start in goal Andrew Monaghan gave a great performance. Leading
by 12 points at half time the lads never let up and further scores from
Brian, Charlie O'Connor and Kieran Meeney left Garrycastle winners of
this game by 14 Points.

team captained by Daniel Hickey had a very competitive game and only
pulled away from a gallant Coralstown/Kinnegad team in the 2nd half.
Leading by example Daniel gave an assured performance in goal finding
the midfield duo of Oisin Langan and Patrick McKiernan with excellent
kick outs. This enabled forwards Jack O'Connor, Joe Carmody and Daragh
Kenna to captipalise on midfield possession and Joe and Daragh found
the back of the net and Jack adding 3 points before half time. Coralstown/Kinnegad
had a very strong finish to the half to leave the half time score 2-05
to 2-03 in favour of Garrycastle. A more determined Garrycastle emerged
in the 2nd half and outstanding defending from Mattious O'Neill, Kevin
Lawless and Keith Emerson kept Coralstown/Kinnegad to 1-02 in the 2nd
